This quasi-experimental analysis attempted to address these questions through exploring the effects of virtualized networking software (OPNET Network Simulator) on pupils’ learning and motivation. 116 undergraduate students registered in a computer network course at one of the universities in Egypt engaged in this research, that were then randomly assigned to an experimental group (N= 59), which utilized the OPNET Network simulator, and a control group (N= 57) which analyzed the exact same content via the standard physical laboratory. Two tools; a networking test, and a Motivation Scale were administered to study groups prior and post the intervention. Results revealed that students of experimental group who employed OPNET Networking simulator had substantially higher grades and increased motivation levels than people of the control group.
